To set up your Philips SNA5630/05 or SNK5630NS/05 modem router to connect wirelessly, take the following steps:
- Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer, type http://192.168.2.1 into the Address bar and press Enter on your keyboard.
- Click Home in the top right.
- In the menu on the left, select Home Network Settings and then select Wireless.
- Set Enable or disable Wireless module function to Enable.
- In the menu on the left, select Channel and SSID.
- Enter a name for your network into the Wireless Network Name box.
Note: This is the name that your wireless modem router will broadcast, so enter something that is recognisable to you. It's important not to enter any personal details.
- Set Broadcast Wireless Network Name to Enable.
- Select Mixed (11b + 11g) from the Wireless Modem drop-down list.
- In the menu on the left select WPA.
- Select WPA from the WPA Mode drop-down list and select TKIP from the Cypher suite drop-down list.
- Set Authentication to Pre-shared Key and set Pre-shared key type to Passphrase (8~63 characters).
- Enter a password into the Pre-shared Key box. The password should be at least eight characters long and can be a maximum of 63 characters. Take a note of this password, as you will need it to connect other wireless devices to your network.
- Click SAVE SETTINGS at the end of the screen.
Your Philips modem router is now set up to connect wirelessly. Ensure to make a note of the Network Name (SSID) and Network Key (WPA Password), as you will need these later. You now need to connect your computer to the network. To do this, see How do I connect my router to the wireless network?
