That's exactly why I was leaving TalkTalk for BT as I was a BT customer years ago and know they had access control on their routers which was in my opinion essential for kids. TT persuaded me to stay with offering me a new router (the one I have is about 8 years old) and a package called Supersafe Boost. They say I can install the app on my phone and control all devices attached to the network via my phone but the more I read, it looks like the app needs to be installed on all devices which is no good to me. (How can you install the app onto a TV to stop YouTube watching on the fly). ANYWAY, I'll wait and see what this new router offers (if anything). If I still can't do what I need to do then I'm afraid I'll have to move back to BT. Oh! And yes, you can have a slave access point attached to your router and have full access control over that but you would need to disable the router WiFi and connect it via ethernet cable. You don't HAVE to disable the router WiFi but I would advise it. Especially if connecting via the AP.
Thanks for reply, yes have tried this 250-350 mbps would that point to cable in or openreach box

As with other users, my router randomly resets itself with the message:   Device reset. Cause: System reset due to kernel panic,   I believe This can be cured by  a software upgrade to version 1.06 ( from information seen both on these forums and elsewhere on the internet). I currently have V1.05T installed. Amongst other things this causes great headaches with my Sky Q box which loses connection and doesn't like reconnecting.   I am using my original Huawei router as the Eero supplied when I went full fibre does not give very good wifi coverage and I ain't going to buy an extender if I don't need to.    Can I obtain an software upgrade please? Thanks     Router details:  Device Type: DG8041W Description: EchoLife DG8041W Home Gateway SN: 2153035991QUL5133568 Hardware Version: I.1.01 Software Version: v1.05t

Hi,    I have recieved the replacement router and sent the old one back. The line was fine with the new router but there as an issue at the exchange and they fixed it. However i plugged my microfilter in and my download speed is around 17-18 mbps and my upload speed is around 3.1 mbps. Though via wireless test and wired connection test without the microfilter, the upload speed is abit of drop still but at the test start , should i unplugged router and wait 20 mins to get my speed of 24mbps and 3.1 mbps after they fixed the exchange ? i also have multiple devices connected including my wifi talktalk extender through a cable ?

Hi   The problem hasn't been resolved, it is exactly the same as it was before.   The internet speed has improved a little since the engineer visited, whether that's just coincidence or not is open for debate. He couldn't find any issue with the connection to the house, after being told by TalkTalk themselves online there was an issue with a connection to the house, something is going wrong somewhere - either there is an issue on your end where you advise people there are connection issues when there aren't any and I was provided with incorrect information, or the engineer misdiagnosed any problems. This is a separate issue I will be taking up with TalkTalk.   I would politely request another route be sent out, because I'm quite convinced the current one is playing a part in this, the opinion was backed up as well by the engineer who visited who mentioned that may be a possible cause. The internet has always gone down randomly and sporadically, if there's no issue with the line, then the only thing that's going to be at fault is the router.   Thank you.
Congratulations @kirkyboy4 , not following the nonsense, being tried to be imposed on you by TalkTalk.   Bill

WE did just that back in March and existing landline switch to link with Full Fibre 150 and it was straightforward. Phone still works fine although can't say the same for the broadband.   good luck

@Ljmm1967, there are separate categories for visual  / hearing / cognitive  / mobility needs in this link:   https://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/TalkTalk-Accessibility/ct-p/talktalk-accessibility.   They don't make it clear whether alternative formats are free of charge,  but you can get in touch via My Account.    Cognitive is listed with options for a Nominated User  / or PoA etc. You need to send proof of authority to appoint a nominee etc.   It's not clear from the information link whether you can set up both forms of special support - all the different forms of need seem to attract different priorities, so you may need to let Talktalk know if there's more than one issue. They don't all come with the same extra support solutions.    I'll move this to the billing section for you.    Staff will reply during the week.

Yes, I agree as I was one of the first to prove it.   Can we now leave this between the OP and TalkTalk?

I presently have my Broadband and land line account with Plusnet but would like to switch to Talk Talk Full Fibre 150.   I have an existing Email account with TalkTalk.   I am having difficulty with TT about the porting of my Landline number across to VOIPfone..   Has anyone else been able to move to TT Full Fibre 150 and also get their existing TelNo. across to the VOIP provider? Any helpful  suggestions will be gratefully received.

I’ve just tried installing the first tp-link m4 unit to my ont via Ethernet and followed the to link app set up for fttp, the ont shows all 4 green lights but won’t allow internet access. I can plug it into my current hub via Ethernet and set it to access point mode and it works but I’d rather lose the hub and go direct to the mesh if possible    im assuming there is some setting at either end (mine or TT’s) that needs to be changed like the VLan tagging that needed changing when my fttp was first installed but I can’t see anything obvious in the app

I will PM you a link for a guide of mine on Wi-Fi interference. It is quite long (about 30 pages), but you will probably only need to look at three or four pages in total. Initially look at the section called "Are you suffering from interference – prove it first". This is the first link in the table of contents. This section includes full details of free Wi-Fi analysers that I recommend for Windows, Windows phone, Android and Apple operating systems. However, I have no way of testing the Apple product. Select the analyser of your choice & my guide explains how to use it. Collect the screenshots that I require and include them in your reply. Do not worry about interpreting the results, I will do that for you. Please post the screenshots to me in a PM (to protect your privacy), which I have requested in my guide. No photos please as they can be difficult to read, because the text can get out of focus when zoomed in. Please ensure that the analyser window is maximised (if Windows) before taking the screenshots & upload them via the "Insert Photos" button (in a mobile browser it's the picture icon) on the post editor's toolbar with the Size parameter set to Large.
